Automated GitHub Backup
Automatically back up and mirror all your published articles to a private or public GitHub repository.
Automated GitHub Backup
ZyVOP enforces Zero Vendor Lock-In. In addition to publishing from Git repositories, ZyVOP can automatically export every article you write or syndicate back into a GitHub repository of your choice.
How It Works
graph LR
ZyVOP["ZyVOP Editor / Syndication"] --> Queue["Backup Sync Queue"]
Queue --> GitHub["Your GitHub Repository
(posts/*.md with Frontmatter)"]Whenever you publish or update a post on ZyVOP:
- The background sync worker generates a clean Markdown file with YAML frontmatter.
- It pushes a commit directly to your designated branch (
main). - Your Git repository remains the evergreen, version-controlled backup of your entire publishing catalog.
Setting Up GitHub Backup
- In ZyVOP, go to Settings → GitHub Backup.
- Connect your GitHub account via OAuth and select the repository you want to use.
- Configure repository options:
- Target Branch: Default is
main. - Posts Directory: Path within the repo where Markdown should be committed (e.g.
posts/orcontent/articles/). - Commit Message Pattern: Customizable (defaults to
chore(blog): sync article:
).
- Target Branch: Default is
- Click Enable Automatic Backup.
