Publication
Create a branded publication with an apex domain or subdomain, responsive layouts, search, newsletter subscriptions, monetization, and social sharing.
A ZyVOP Publication is your independent media brand โ a hosted website that renders your articles on a connected apex domain or subdomain with your branding and audience settings.
Publication settings are separate from your ZyVOP user profile. You control the publication brand, domain, and SEO settings while ZyVOP handles hosting, rendering, syndication, and infrastructure.
Core Concepts
Profile vs. Publication
ZyVOP separates User Identity from Publication Brand:
| Concept | Description |
|---|---|
| User / Profile | Your personal identity on ZyVOP (zyvop.com/author/:username). Owns avatar, bio, social links, followers, and reactions. |
| Publication | An independent media brand on a connected root/apex domain, www, or another subdomain. Stores its name, logos, favicon, navigation, pages, domain, SEO metadata, and newsletter settings. |
Profile Inheritance
When your account publication is provisioned, it inherits your profile display name, bio, avatar, and social links. Publication-level overrides then take precedence.
An independent publication site, custom hostname, and publication activation require Founding Pro. Each account currently has one owner publication. Free accounts can still publish articles and author pages on the ZyVOP network.
Publication Modes
ZyVOP supports two routing modes that control how your articles are served:
| Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Network Integrated (default) | Articles live on the ZyVOP network and are also rendered on your publication domain. The network URL is the canonical source. |
| Standalone (Pro) | Your publication domain becomes the canonical source. Network URLs issue a permanent 308 redirect to your publication. |
Setting Up a Publication
Navigate to Publication in your ZyVOP dashboard (or visit /dashboard/publication). The publication workspace provides tabs for:
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| General | Publication name, slug, description |
| Appearance | Layout, branding, display toggles |
| Navbar | Custom navigation links |
| Pages | Static content pages |
| Domain & Routing | Custom domains, publication mode, article migration |
| SEO & Export | SEO metadata, OG images, data export |
| Monetization | Google AdSense configuration |
| Webhooks | Publication event delivery endpoints |
Publications start in a dormant state. Activation requires Founding Pro and an active custom hostname; it makes the site public and can migrate existing articles into its feed.
