Monetization & Integrations

Google AdSense, newsletter subscriptions, RSS feeds, sitemaps, data export, webhooks, and Founding Pro entitlements.

Google AdSense (Pro)

Integrate your Google AdSense account to monetize your publication:

  1. Navigate to Publication → Monetization in your dashboard (or /dashboard/publication).
  2. Enter your AdSense Publisher ID (format: ca-pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX or pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX).
  3. Enable Auto Ads for automatic ad placement.

ZyVOP injects the AdSense script into your publication pages (disabled in preview mode). The publisher ID is validated server-side against the ca-pub- format with a strict regex pattern.

Newsletter Integration

Publications can display built-in author newsletter signup surfaces. Subscriptions use double opt-in confirmation, and verified subscriber records can be exported. Toggle the publication newsletter card with display.showNewsletterCard.

RSS Feed & Sitemap

RSS Feed

Every publication automatically generates an RSS feed at:

https://yourdomain.com/rss.xml

The RSS link is:

  • Included in the page <head> as an application/rss+xml alternate link
  • Displayed in header and footer navigation with an RSS icon

Sitemap

ZyVOP generates XML sitemap data for your publication via the backend endpoint (GET /api/v1/publications/:id/sitemap-data). This includes all published articles and static pages, enabling search engine crawlers to discover your content.

SEO & Metadata

Automatic SEO

  • Custom SEO title and description — Configurable via seoTitle (max 70 chars) and seoDescription (max 200 chars), with fallbacks to publication name and description
  • Canonical URLs — Pointed to your primary custom domain
  • Open Graph and Twitter Cards — Custom OG images via ogImageUrl, titles, and descriptions
  • Robots directives — Preview mode automatically excluded from indexing (noindex, nofollow)
  • Pagination metadata — Page numbers appended to canonical URLs for paginated feeds

Preview Mode

Publications can be previewed before going live at /publication-preview/:id. Preview mode uses no-store caching, noindex robots directives, and displays a "Private Preview" indicator.

Data Export

ZyVOP provides a downloadable ZIP export. Navigate to Publication → SEO & Export:

FileContents
posts/*.mdAll articles in Markdown with YAML frontmatter (title, slug, date, tags, canonical URL, origin type, legacy URL behavior). Compatible with Astro, Hugo, Next.js, Gatsby, Jekyll, and Hashnode.
pages/*.mdStatic pages in Markdown with frontmatter (title, slug, description, isPublished).
redirects.jsonAll custom path redirects with status codes and active state.
subscribers.csvPortable email subscriber list (email, status, confirmed, confirmedAt, createdAt).
publication.jsonFull configuration: metadata, theme settings, domain mappings, publication mode.
README.mdMigration documentation with content inventory and platform compatibility notes.

The export ZIP is generated server-side with maximum compression and named zyvop-export-{slug}-{date}.zip.

Pro Plan & Entitlements

Publication features are split between the free tier and ZyVOP Founding Pro:

FeatureFreePro
Publication Site—✓
Custom Domain with SSL—✓
Standalone Mode (308 redirects)—✓
Google AdSense Monetization—✓
Hide ZyVOP Branding—✓
Draft Answer-Readiness Score—✓
AI Crawler Controls—✓
Content Freshness Insights—✓
Detectable AI-Referral Analytics—✓
Publication Event Webhooks—✓

AI-referral analytics records visits that include a detectable AI-service HTTP referrer. It does not monitor unclicked citations or run daily query-based citation checks.

Entitlements are checked against:

  1. Admin plan overrides (with optional expiration dates)
  2. Active Pro subscription (PayPal, Razorpay, or Stripe)
  3. Free tier fallback

When Founding Pro access ends, paid publication controls are disabled and the publication returns to Network Integrated mode. The existing custom domain stays live for a 30-day grace period. After that period, article paths on the custom domain permanently redirect to their ZyVOP network URLs. Restoring Pro during the grace period cancels the pending transition.
