Connect and Distribute
Connect external platforms, choose destinations per article, and understand what happens after delivery begins.
Distribution creates or announces copies of a published ZyVOP article on platforms you select. It is optional, controlled per article, and separate from ZyVOP's own discovery review.
First understand the two actions
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Publish on ZyVOP | Creates the public ZyVOP article URL |
| Distribute externally | Sends the article or an announcement to selected connected platforms |
An article can live only on ZyVOP. Connecting an integration does not send every article automatically unless you later enable and configure an automation that does so.
Connect a destination
- Open Settings → Integrations.
- Choose the platform you want to connect.
- Follow its credential or authorization instructions.
- Complete verification and confirm that the platform shows as connected.
Connection requirements vary. For example, some services use API keys or app passwords, while others use OAuth or a platform-specific token. Start with the Destinations overview, then open the guide for your provider.
Use provider-specific credentials
When a platform offers app passwords or access tokens, use those rather than your primary account password. Keep credentials out of article content, screenshots, repositories, and support messages.
Choose destinations for an article
Before publication
In the editor, open Publishing Settings → Syndicate and enable the connected destinations that should receive this article. Save the draft after making your choices.
After publication
In Manage Posts, open the article's distribution details. You can inspect current copies, select connected destinations, queue new deliveries, copy destination URLs, and retry supported failures.
Cross-posting from the post dashboard becomes available after the article is published.
Know what each destination receives
| Destination type | Typical result |
|---|---|
| Long-form platform | A full article copy with supported metadata and canonical preference |
| Social platform | A shorter announcement and link back to the article |
| CMS | A post created through that CMS's supported publishing interface |
See the destination comparison for the current platform matrix and individual limitations.
Read delivery states
| State | What it tells you | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Selected | Destination is configured for the article | Publish the article or save the change |
| Pending or queued | ZyVOP is waiting to process delivery | Allow the background job to finish |
| Published or live | The destination returned a successful article or post | Open the destination URL and inspect it |
| Failed | The provider rejected or could not complete the request | Read the provider message, fix the cause, then retry |
| Not connected | The article selected a destination without a valid connection | Reconnect it in Integrations |
Temporary provider errors and rate limits can resolve on retry. Credential, permission, or content-validation errors usually require a settings or article change first.
Protect the preferred source
Before sending a full article to several sites, decide which URL should receive search credit. ZyVOP passes the configured canonical preference to destinations that support it.
Canonical support does not make every copy identical, and search engines treat canonical declarations as signals. Read Canonical Links & SEO before migrating an established article library.
Updates and platform limits
Editing the ZyVOP article does not mean every destination can update an existing remote copy. Each provider controls whether its API supports updates, drafts, tags, series, images, and canonical fields.
Open the relevant guide before relying on repeat synchronization:
A reliable first distribution
- Connect one destination.
- Publish one short, representative article.
- Queue that single destination.
- Open the remote copy and check its canonical URL, images, code blocks, tags, and links.
- Add more destinations after the result matches your expectations.

Import Your Existing Writing
Bring an existing article library into ZyVOP while preserving source information and reviewing every post before publication.
Review, Visibility, and Canonical URLs
Understand whether an article is public, discoverable, under review, externally delivered, or canonical somewhere else.
